She’s taking the time she needs to focus on her mental health.
And Britney Spears enjoyed some time with her boyfriend Sam Asghari at The Montage hotel in Beverly Hills on Sunday afternoon as she was spotted out for the first time nearly one month after voluntarily admitting herself into a mental health facility.
The 37-year-old pop princess wore a delicate red sundress and brown suede Birkenstocks as she left the luxury digs with her beau by her side following reports she sought out a 30-day treatment program to address severe emotional distress associated with her father Jamie’s failing health.
Britney carried a sweatshirt across her arm as she walked through the lobby of the hotel near Rodeo Drive. Sam certainly seemed protective as he stayed in front of Spears while the pair made their way to a waiting vehicle.
The Lucky songstress showed some skin wearing a vibrant red, strapless dress with sleeves hugging her biceps. She stuck with the spring vibes and wore a pair of brown suede Birkenstock sandals on her feet.
Britney’s bright blonde hair was worn straight and parted toward the side with tendrils cascading down her shoulders. Her hands were full with a bevy of bags, including a black leather purse and bright red Adidas trainers.
Sam wore a green, black and white striped sweater with red shorts and a black leather baseball cap. He seemed to be serving as her ultimate protector while leading the pop star through the hotel.
We reported in early April that Spears has been struggling to cope with mental strain and will spend a month at the unspecified health facility.
Her sons Sean, 13, and Jayden, 12, with ex-husband Kevin Federline, have been splitting their time with their father and at their mom’s home with a caregiver on the premises, a source told the outlet.
Her father Jamie had major two surgeries to correct issues regarding his intestines and colon, an insider told MM.
He recently had the second procedure done but has still been suffering health complications, which prompted Spears to put a hold on her Las Vegas residency to be by his side.
A source told People magazine that the singer checked into a facility for;
‘all-encompassing wellness treatment’ so she could ‘focus on herself. Her dad being sick has taken a toll on her. He nearly died and actually had another surgery a few weeks ago. He’s not doing well. They’re so close and it has been a lot. There is nothing dramatic going on with her – she just realized she needs to make sure to take time to care for herself,’ the source said.
Britney has suffered from mental health issues before including the 2007 incident when she shaved her head at a salon in the Tarzana suburb of Los Angeles and spent time in and out of a Malibu rehab center.
She was also notoriously once photographed attacking a car with an umbrella following her 2007 divorce from Kevin Federline. In 2008, Britney sought treatment before being hospitalized at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles due to being under the influence.
As a result, a judge ruled that Federline would have sole custody of their two young sons Sean and Jayden. Shortly after, she was committed to the psychiatric ward of Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center and put on 5150 involuntary psychiatric hold.
The court then placed her under temporary – and later permanent – conservatorship of her father Jamie Spears and attorney Andrew Wallet, giving them complete control over her assets before she was released five days later.
